501(c)(3) status so we can reach and help more Wyomingites.
what is a 501(c)(3)?
501(c)(3) is an Internal Revenue Service code that recognizes an organization as a public charity and, thus, offers the non profit organization tax exemption status.
What are the advantages of 501(c)(3)?
There are multiple advantages to becoming incorporated as a non profit.
Under 501(c)(3) status, our organization would benefit from the organization and sustainable model of a corporation without paying a corporate income tax. Additionally, if you would like to make a donation to us, it would be tax-deductible. This means that you benefit from the status as much as we do.
Eligibility for Public and Private Grants
Many grant foundations and government offices only provide funding for 501(c)(3) non profits. Achieving public charity status broadens our fundraising ability, which increases our capacity to reach more Wyomingites.
These are just a few of the advantages of achieving 501(c)(3) status. But, perhaps most importantly, it would allow us to have the resources to be increasingly transparent with you, the local community, about our programs and finances.
If you would like to help us achieve 501(c)(3) status, become a sponsor of this campaign or make a donation. Sponsors will receive weekly updates about the campaign's progress and, if you represent a business or organization, we will advertise your logo on our website. Thank you for helping us reach and empower more community members of Wyoming.
